Are you looking for a better sandpaper? One that still works even if you bend it? Then forget about paper. You are not looking for a sandpaper, but for a sanding mesh.

If you'v ever come across Mirka Abranet mesh or "sandpaper", you're probably wondering why sort it under Hand sanding category. A justified question. ;)

Without any knowledge about these sanding nets I've ordered a few to test them out. And when I first tried it - hand sanding one of my wooden bowls, I instantaniously forgot about classic sandpaper. Results with the Abranet are so much better, it just makes no sense buying the classic sandpaper, as there are way to many disadvantages to it.

It is true though that Mirka Abranet is primarily designed for vibration sanding machines (orbital sanders), which remove sawdust directly through the sanding plate, but in my personal experience they are excellent also for sanding by hand. It is perfect for those hard to reach corners of your wooden products and also to use on the whole product if desired. You will not find anything about hand sanding in Mirkas' catalogue though. It is only my personal experience that made me offer them for this application.

• abrasive coating is strongly bonded with the mesh base
• you can fold it and abrasive coating will remain on the folded corner
• even completelly crushed (from folding and bending) will still effectively remove material
• it does not clog up

I am sure you will never use standard sandpaper for hand sanding after you've tried the Mirka Abranet sanding net. It is true you get a bigger piece of classic sandpaper fort he same price, but there is simply no comparison.

Hint: I will soon offer a handy solution for attaching the Abranet to your working gloves. Abranet namely has a hook and loop surface and I am just testing a heavy duty velcro tape with adhesive to stick to your working gloves and to hold the Abranet sanding mesh in place. So the net will not slip off your finger or out of your palm no matter what or where you are sanding. I think it is a more convenient and also cheaper alternative to sanding gloves.
